Samrong Village School of Opportunity (SVSO) is the school which provides free English class, health care, art, and environment. Samrong Village School of Opportunity (SVSO) is a non-profit organization who is trying to register in the Kingdom of Cambodia government to be the non-government organization. We are looking for long short and long term sponsor. Since we have set up we did not yet get any sponsor beside small amount from volunteering. SVSO is in Samrong Village, Khnar Pour Commune, Sotnie Kom District, Siem Reap Province. It is about 40 km to the east-north of Siem Reap town. It takes about an hour by Tuk-Tuk or three hours by bike. SVSO was found in 2009, by Mr. Len Laim, where he was born. He believes that only free education for children that can change their future. He was riding bike on long way from Siem Reap town to see and give free education to them.

                              

Since 17 April 195, Cambodia was been changed from republic to communist country by The Khmer-Rouge regime. In that time all people lost their families, relatives, friends, houses, wealth, and everything. They all hat to work as slaves at rices fields at the countrysides. All of them were working from morning to evening, every Sunday was Monday, and every Monday was the day of working. Even though young or adults, old people we all had to worked at the farm for communist organization. There were not schools, religion, and bussiness in that time. Everywhere had the civil war. There were about 2 million people death in that time. Samrong Village is one of the villages was destroyed by Khmer-Rouge regime because this village near by Koulen mountain and forest. It was the place for hiding army and fighting. There were many villagers became solders and working hard at rice field. Many villagers was died in that time some of them died by landmine, and some become disable. Samrong just finished civil war around 1992 after Paris Signature between Khmer-Rouge and government.

                                

According to our research, there are about 150 families and 462 people in Samrong village. Only 15 per cent of the people could read and most of them are boy. All villagers are farmers and plant rice. They could earn under 1 USD per day. Many children could not afford to go to school because of families situation. Children have to help their parents at the farms or look after animal (cow), and catch some crabs at rice fields for cook.
